If you haven’t seen it, Star Wars Uncut is a crowdsourced work of wonder. On the website, Pugh cut up Star Wars: A New Hope into tiny tidbits and invited fans from across the galaxy (even galaxies far far away) to select a clip and help remake the film, 15 seconds at a time. Contributors to Star Wars Uncut are allowed to use whatever medium and style they want when remaking their scenes. Over the last two years, fans from across the globe have contributed unique, remarkable and inspired remakes of the classic sci-fi film. For the Director’s Cut, Pugh, along with video editor Aaron Valdez and sound designer and mixer Bryan Pugh, stitched together their favorite 15-second contributions. The Director’s Cut brings together every style of animation and live action fan-generated content you can imagine into a two-plus-hour film. The resulting movie is a remarkably faithful reproduction of the original George Lucas feature, except that you can watch it on YouTube in its entirety.”
